Dr. Cooper is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles on back pain. His contributions to the scientific literature include basic science papers on the histology of the intervertebral disc after nucleoplasty, as well as numerous clinical outcome trials involving epidural steroid injections, IDET, nucleoplasty, and other spinal procedures. In 2004, Dr. Cooper received the International Spine Intervention Society award for outstanding research presentation at their annual meeting in Maui, HI. Presently, Dr. Cooper is conducting a multi-center research trial investigating the utility of discography as a diagnostic tool for chronic lower back pain. Dr. Cooper is the author of two orthopedic books and is also the editor of Essential Guide to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (In Press) published by Humana Press.
